DESCRIPTION:
This dress has elements of traditional vintage textiles (I am not sure what culture or time period as they don’t immediately strike me as specific to any one group.) It seems more like a remade garment to salvage older textiles than a fully traditional dress. The combination of use and blocked materials are done very well to create a balanced garment. There are tones of black, blue and dark purple or maroon throughout the piece. Sleeves, front chest and the skirt are all the more vintage textile that have elements of woven and embroidered patterns. There are some small patches with velvet incorporated including a nice little “=” sign on the back.
Second-hand button back and pleated skirt dress
